The Butler Blazers' Special Olympics Team  athletes with developmental disabilities ages 8 and up at any skill level or ability may participate in:

  • Basketball and Cheerleading (January-March)
  • Track and Field, Swimming and Powerlifting (April-June)
  • Softball (June-July)
  • Soccer (August-September)
  • Volleyball (August-November)
  • Bowling (September-November)

Arc of Butler Blazers Tennis Team

The Arc of Butler Blazers tennis team practices from the first week in May through September and participates in 6 local tournaments.  Practices are in El Dorado at the Water Works tennis Courts on East Central from 6:30-7:30 on tuesdays and in Andover on thursdays from 6:00-7:00 on the tennis courts behind Andover Central High.  Athletes age 8 and up and at any skill or ablitity level may participate.  Contact Sandi Simkulet at: (316) 733-8192 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Arc of Butlers' Circle of Friends

 
The Arc of Butlers' Circle of Friends is a club in area Butler County Schools that are made up of disabled students and their non disabled peers.  Buddies attend events, participate in activities, go on field trips and perform a variety show together.  This year's variety show is scheduled for December 3rd and 4th at El Dorado Middle School in El Dorado, KS.  More information to follow.

Seasonal Parties

The Arc of Butler sponsors two seasonal parties for Circle of Friends buddies and Special Education students in Butler County schools.  These parties occur in October for Halloween and in February for Valentine's Day.  Students participate in games, craft activities, have lunch together, receive prizes and dance.  

Teen Club

The Arc of Butler Sponsors a Teen Club that runs during the Andover school district calendar year on friday evenings at Andover Stadium Grounds.  Teens and young adults ages 14-30 attend the club from after school until 8:00pm.  Participants watch movies, play Wii, do crafts, play games and have dinner together. This provides a social outlet for individuals with special needs and respite care for families.  Teen club is coordinated and run by a certified special education teacher and paraeducators.  For more information or to sign up for Teen club please contact Jackie Bishop at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
